Named after a Methodist preacher William Feckman who died 7 June 1867 at "Sunville House", Drimoleague. William Feckman, a native of Wexford, born in 1780, was the first man to introduce Methodism in Drimoleague in any consistent way. The Methodist Feckman Memorial Chapel, in Drimoleague, was named after him, and he is buried in the Old Drimoleague cemetery in the same tomb as Samuel Jagoes family, particular friends of his, who were at one mind with him.

I have made a calculated deduction that Joseph Wolfe is a brother of William James Wolfe based on the following facts. They both married Hetty Willis nee Morgan and I do not believe there were two Hetty Willis's nee Morgan. It was a common practise, at the time, to marry the widow of a brother, if for no other reason than keeping the land in the family.
The only other possibility is that he was a cousin but I am gambling that he was a brother. This is only my conclusion until there is verification by further data.

There is no doubt that Patience was born in Ballydevlin, but no records show up for her or siblings until 1874. Since Civil Registration began in 1864, it is likely that none were registered prior to, and probably for some time after that. The fact that her parents were married in 1856, but had no children until they arrived back in Skibbereen in the 1874-76 period is highly unlikely. We must therefore assume siblings were born between 1856 & 1874, but not registered.. Richard Swanton, at least, was probably a teacher when they lived in Ballydevlin. The use of Sarah as a Croston name would also, under the traditional naming pattern indicate that Patience's mother was Sarah.
